An interesting story about Winifred, she wanted to change the face of education for disadvantaged, special education students while in undergraduate school, so she majored in Special Education. She became president of the Special Education Student Council. She championed organizations to assist in providing services for students with disabilities SWD as well as organized clothing drives, and tutorial services. One of her professors assigned her to a state school for severe and profound students. Winifred was 19 years old. One of her students passed away while she was completing her assignment in the school. It was too heart wrenching for Winifred, so she reluctantly changed her major to general education.

As we travel on this path called Life, there are many twists and turns. She knew where her passion was, she had to find her way back. She was always an advocate for children and fifteen years after completing undergraduate school, she found her way back to the Special Education arena and continued to work there for next twenty-four years.

If she could leave you with one thought, it would be to follow your passion. It will always take you to your greatest heights in life.
